Mar.15.2007 – Happy Ides of March!!

Don’t Quit

When things go wrong as they sometimes will.
When the road you’re trudging seems all up hill.
When funds are low and the debts are high.
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh.
When care is pressing you down a bit.
Rest, if you must, but don’t you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns.
As everyone of us sometimes learns.
And many a failure turns about.
When he might have won had he stuck it out:
Don’t give up though the pace seems slow –
You may succeed with another blow.
Success is failure turned inside out –
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt
And you never can tell how close you are.
It may be near when it seems so far:
So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit –
It’s when things seem worst that you must not quit.

  1. What an inspirational poem. I think I should have this on my wall above my desk for when I am feeling a lack of confidence in my work. Thank you so much for sharing it.

  2. I absolutely love that poem and actually had it filed away for an upcoming blog entry…about climbing. 🙂

    It’s beautiful and true.

  3. Thanks for the inspiration Karen. and thanks for visiting me too! I’m happy to have found your blog. Are you the same Karen that’s one of my friends on DailyOm? If not, would love to add you.

  4. Yogaglamgirl! I’m so glad to see you here! No, I’m not the Karen on DailyOM but I didn’t even know you could add friends there. Please do add me to your list. That would be great! 🙂

  5. Freelisa – THANK YOU! What a nice thing to say about my blog. I’m really glad that you stopped by.

Projectmetta – I’m so glad that you loved the poem. I do too!

Stilettoheights – I need it whispered into my ear daily too. Wonder if we could hire someone out to do that!? 😉
