Cultivate doing good…

Abandon wrongdoing.  It can be done.  If there were no likelihood, I would not ask you to do it.  But since it is possible and since it brings blessings and happiness, I do ask of you:  abandon wrongdoing.

Cultivate doing good.  It can be done.  If it brought deprivation and sorrow, I would not ask you to do it.  But since it brings blessing and happiness, I do ask of you: cultivate doing good.

  1. Oh Karen Beth, hello!! I am so sorry I fell off the radar and have been a terrible blogging friend recently, it’s great to hear from you and thank you for your lovely comment. By the way – this photo is absolutely STUNNING, did you take it?

Yes, time passing is a scary thing, although I like to think it’s also a beautiful thing in a way. I was thinking that earlier, walking through the fields and looking at all the goregous autumn colours. Cycles, life, growing, maturing, ageing, dying. We fight against it, but it’s all part of the natural order of things. I think we need to embrace growing older rather than fearing it. I’m a young looking 29-year old but those wrinkles are starting to appear. I was horrified at first, but there is no need to be be scared. If we can accept ageing and do that in a graceful way, we’ve won half the battle.

I loved the quote you posted by the way, it’s lovely.

  2. Thanks for the fun comments on my blog! First time I’ve read yours and I like it 🙂 Lots of lovely quotes – the one from the Dalai Lama is my favourite!

  3. “Hello, Karen Beth”, said I. “I am pleased to make your acquaintance.” 🙂

I very much like this quote. Very much.

And I love how there’s this spiderwww.eb of correspondence and friendship that happens through this thing called blogging and, for us, a person named Cat.

I’ll be back! I’m glad our paths have crossed.
