Red Letter Day – September 16, 2008

Today was a total Red Letter Day.

Don’t we love those?

Today I was offered – and accepted – the position of Program Director for Corinth Tourism.  I am SO excited to have this job and have been pining after it since May, when I first applied.  I’ve had two interviews and felt like it might never happen but it has!  And I have the job!  And… wahoo!

In other ‘Red Letter Day’ news, I was FINALLY able to upgrade my Flickr account to FlickrPro today so now I can store pictures there to my heart’s content.  For those of you interested, you can click here to access my profile and photos.   Feel free to add me to your contacts, leave photo comments or testimonials.  That would be fun!

As it turns out, I’m not the only one who had a ‘Red Letter Day’ today.  My sister sold a house today and a friend’s husband got a good test result.  All such great news!

For those of you wondering, my theatre performance went along great!  The show is now over and I’m waiting until the Christmas show to do another one.  It was such fun though and I can’t wait to get back into it.  Hopefully by Christmas, I will be settled into my job and able to really give it my all again.  I’m so glad I went and auditioned for the show; it is one of the best things I’ve ever done for myself!  I met some of the greatest people and learned that my dramatic flair is good for something!

Photos from the show are here.

There was a huge write-up in the local newspaper about the show and had my picture smack-dab on the FRONT page but it has already been taken down.  Oh well.  It was neat to have such coverage though!  Wow!

I have so many goals that are now really coming together and things that are really falling into place and my goals are making more sense to me – in the most unlikely place on Earth.  It is so very odd to me how you can dream and plan and dream and plan and never hit even close to how things will really turn out.  Plans are good, no doubt, but I think the Universe has a plan for us that is far greater than any we could ever make for ourselves.  I’ve struggled so long against that plan, trying to do my own thing, trying to fit square pegs into round holes and this is what it comes down to.

And I’m happy with it all.

I’m happy – period.

Finally.

And the Universe knew I would be.

But I know that none of it could have come about on any different time-frame than it did, than it has.  Things have to work out in their own time, I had lessons to learn – lessons to learn about myself, realizations I had to come to about things I wanted, growing to be done.  And I’m better for it, I’m better prepared for this new job, for all the adventures that I can’t even foresee because of it.

Even amid my giddiness over it all… I’m amazed at how things work.

And it is good.

I have a little project up my sleeve that I can’t wait to share with you all.  It isn’t big at all so don’t get your hopes up but I think it will be fun.  I will have fun with it anyway.

Until again… May all your days be ‘Red Letter Days’ in one way or another.

(My favorite recent photo – taken with my camera by my sister.  That is me that Delali is on top of. :))

Pssssssst… Be sure to check out the awesome vintage photo sale that I’m having at my Etsy store right now.  I’m clearing out to make room for tons of other great vintage photos that I have to list, including my Christmas / holiday pics!
